OSRAM the winner at Stiftung Warentest

LED and energy-saving lamps from OSRAM are winners in their classes

The September issue of "test" magazine chooses an OSRAM LED lamp as the test winner. The OSRAM Parathom Pro Classic A 80 heads the field of LED lamps with a rating of "very good" (overall grade 1.3). Among the energy-saving lamps, the top places went to the two OSRAM lamps tested, the OSRAM Duluxstar Mini Twist and the OSRAM Duluxstar.

According to Stiftung Warentest, "very high luminous efficacy and a long service life" are, in addition to the energy savings, the outstanding characteristics of the OSRAM Parathom Pro Classic A 80, which emerged as the winner of the LED lamp test with a rating of "very good". The OSRAM Parathom Pro Classic A 80 is by far the brightest and most efficient lamp in the comparison: its output is almost 100 lumen higher than that of the product taking second place. Its luminous efficacy is thus 10 percent better than the runner-up product.

Top two among the energy-saving lamps

The highest grades in their category were also achieved by the two OSRAM energy-saving lamps included in the test. The OSRAM Duluxstar Mini Twist 13W and the OSRAM Duluxstar 14W both gave a convincing performance in the test categories "Environment and Health" and "Durability". In addition to which, they were two grades ahead of the other test participants in the "Declaration" category ("very good"). In other words, they fulfil the promises made on the packaging. Moreover, the test report also puts paid to the widespread misconception that energy-saving lamps are only available in cool colour appearances: according to the editors, "with 2500 Kelvin, the colour temperature of the 'Comfort light' lamp from OSRAM is even warmer than the light of an incandescent lamp".

Christian Schraft, Head of Consumer Lighting at OSRAM stated: "The Stiftung Warentest verdict makes it more than clear: quality pays off when buying lamps! The top grades confirm our strategy of constantly investing in the further development of our products, so as to be able to offer innovative and, above all, energy-efficient lighting solutions for every home and every application."

Halogen lamps for special applications

The Halogen Classic A ES from OSRAM likewise gave a convincing demonstration in comparison with the other halogen lamps tested. As regards service life, the test showed that the OSRAM lamp is the only one to keep the promise made on the packaging: with a measured total of 2,616 hours, it even significantly surpassed the indicated figure.
